North Carolina Practice

Consumer Protection in the Tar Heel State

Klein & Sheridan has built a strong consumer protection practice in North Carolina, representing clients across the central and southeastern parts of the state. Our North Carolina attorneys are licensed to practice in all state courts as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina.

North Carolina consumers face many of the same challenges as consumers nationwide: inaccurate credit reports that prevent them from buying homes or getting jobs, debt collectors who use illegal tactics to intimidate and harass, and mortgage servicers who mishandle payments and wrongfully deny modifications. Our attorneys know how to leverage both federal consumer protection statutes and North Carolina's own Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act to protect our clients' rights.

Our Fayetteville office deserves special mention for its work with military families. Active duty service members and veterans face unique consumer protection challenges, and federal laws like the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act provide additional protections that many attorneys do not know how to use. Our team is experienced in combining SCRA protections with traditional consumer protection claims to achieve the strongest possible results for military clients.
